Jean Paul is a Policy Advisor for Climate Finance and Development at Germanwatch, based in Bonn, Germany. His role focuses on climate finance and development related issues, especially in the context of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Adaptation Fund (AF). He is coordinating the project “Civil Society Organizations readiness to the Green Climate Fund – focus Africa” jointly implemented by Germanwatch and CARE International with support from a consortium of African networks and civil society organizations. Jean Paul previously worked with the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) as Programme Officer for Networks and Learning to implement the Civil Society Education Fund (CSEF), and was the Coordinator of the Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network (CYCN). In 2011, he served as the Focal Point of the youth constituency (YOUNGO) at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and supported youth participation within the UNFCCC processes and policy proceedings. He co-founded a youth-led NGO in Cameroon, named Actions Vitales pour le Développement durable (AVD).
